1. Thomas1 Tilden, son of Nathaniel Tilden and Lydia Huckstep, (#1434) was born in Tenterden, Kent, England before January 19, 1618/9 (chr. date). Thomas died 1705 in Marshfield, MA, at 86 years of age.

He married twice. He married Elizabeth Bourne circa 1653 in probably, Marshfield, MA. (Elizabeth Bourne is #2357.) Elizabeth was born circa 1618 in maybe, Kent, England. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Bourne and Elizabeth Bassenden?. Elizabeth died December 12, 1663 in Marshfield, New Plymouth Colony, at 45 years of age.(1) He married Mary Holmes January 24, 1664/5 in Marshfield, New Plymouth Colony.(2) (Mary Holmes is #1435.) Mary was born probably before 1647.

She married Anthony Eames. (Anthony Eames is #716.) Anthony was born circa 1663 in Marshfield, New Plymouth Colony. Anthony was the son of Justus Eames and Mehitabel Chillingsworth. Anthony died April 17, 1739 in Marshfield, Plymouth Co, MA, at 75 years of age. Anthony was buried in the Old Burial Ground at the Congregational Church in Marshfield, Plymouth Co, MA.(15) In Justus Eames's will written March 7, 1697 in Marshfield, Plymouth Co, MA, Anthony was named as his eldest son.(16) Anthony Eames wrote his will Jan. 10, 1738/9.(17) Anthony's estate was probated May 7, 1739 in Plymouth Co, MA.(18) Transcript 15 Aug 1923, response by J.L. to query #258, mentions wife Elizabeth, says recorded ch. were Joshua 1704, Caleb 170-, Benjamin 1709, Ebenezer 1711, Elizabeth 1706 mar. -- Williamson; all alive in 1739. Will also names unrecorded ch. Anthony, Thomas, and Margery Doggett. Will mentions dau. first and sons in the order: Thomas, Anthony, Joshua, Benj., Caleb, and Ebenezer.

Elizabeth Tilden and Anthony Eames had the following children:

11. Thomas2 Tilden (Thomas1) (#5155) was born about 1670.

He married Hannah Tilden 20 Dec 1692 in Marshfield, Plymouth Co, MA.(26) (Hannah Tilden is #5156.) Hannah was born probably before 1675. Hannah Tilden wrote her will 25 Oct 1736 in Pembroke, Plymouth Co, MA.(27) Hannah's estate was probated 10 April 1746.(28)

Researchers of descendants of Henry Sampson place him in this family without birth date or source reference. Thomas died 10 Feb 1826 in Islesborough, ME, at 86 years of age.(75)

John died August 18, 1804 in Buckfield, ME, at 73 years of age. "History of Buckfield ME" by Cole and Whitman, and "History of Woodstock ME" by Wm. B. Lapham, both give name as Bathsheba, but "Vital Records of Rochester MA" NEHGS gives name at marriage and birth of children as Bersheba. "V.R. of Marshfield MA", 1970, mentions Bathsheba 'of this town' in intent, and Bersheba 'of this town' at marriage.

She married Jesse Turner May 3, 1780 in Pembroke, Plymouth Co, MA.(114) (Jesse Turner is #88.) Jesse was born May 14, 1744 in Pembroke, Plymouth Co, MA.(115) Jesse was the son of Joshua Turner and Sarah Winslow. Jesse died March 13, 1821 in Buckfield, Oxford Co, ME, at 76 years of age.(116) Jesse was buried at Turner Cemetery in Buckfield, Oxford Co, ME.(117) Jesse moved with his family around 1797 to Buckfield.(118) In the 1820 Census, Jesse was listed as a head of household engaged in agriculture in Buckfield, Oxford Co, ME.(119) He and his wife were age 45+, with a man 26-44, a woman 16-25, a boy and a girl 10-15, and a girl under age 10.

Sarah died about 1801 in Buckfield, Cumberland Co, ME.(130) He married Abigail Buck before 1802.(131) (Abigail Buck is #723.) Abigail was born 5 Feb 1779. Abigail was the daughter of John Buck and Abigail Irish.
