He married Ruth Graves Dec 3, 1729 in Reading, MA.(11) (Ruth Graves is #4843.) Ruth was the daughter of Joseph Graves.

Some time around 25 March 1756, the family had moved from Framingham to stay in the house of Joseph Richards in Southboro. On 5 May 1756 the Southboro Town Council directed the constable to warn Isaac Buck, his wife Ruth, and their two children, Susanna and Joseph, to get out of town forthwith. This was a formal notification, customary of the times, which would legally relieve the town of any responsibility to support the Bucks, who were called "a poor family in low circumstances."(12)

The reputation of the family was hardly enhanced when Isaac was reported to have fathered a child by Mary Richards, the daughter of his host. The author of a book of genealogies of Worcester County appears to have attempted to cover up this affair between a fiftyish man and a twentyish girl by inventing an Isaac Jr., said to have married Mary Richards around 1755. But no record of such a one has been discovered, and the town records of Southborough never differentiate the name of Isaac Buck by "Sr." or "Jr."

The artillerymen thought of themselves as more of a trained elite, however, and eventually the Congress was persuaded to the European view that they deserved higher pay.
