Collector Allingham of Lancashire had the following children:

2 i. Francis² Allingham of Manchester (#6104) was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England 1815 or 1816. He might be the same as Francis Allingham of New York, another chairmaker born about 1818, but said to be born in Ireland. Francis enlisted in the 4th Artillery, Company H of the U. S. Army for 3 years 13 July 1837 in New York, NY.⁽¹⁾ He was age 21, blue eyes, dark brown hair, florid complexion, 5' 6 1/2", born in Manchester, England, a chairmaker.
Francis reenlisted in the 8th Infantry, Company I of the U. S. Army for 5 years 31 Aug 1840 in New York, NY.⁽²⁾ He was age 23, blue eyes, brown hair, florid complexion, 5' 6 1/2", born in Manchester, England, a soldier.
Francis was honorably discharged from active duty with the rank of private 13 Aug 1845 in Fort Marion, FL.⁽³⁾

3 ii. William Allingham of Manchester (#6105) was born in Manchester, Lancashire, England 1818 or 1819. William enlisted in the 4th Artillery, Company D of the U. S. Army for 3 years 12 July 1837 in New York, NY.⁽⁴⁾ He was age 18, light hair, florid complexion, 5' 4 3/4", born in Manchester, England, a cabinetmaker.
William was honorably discharged from active duty with the rank of private 24 July 1840 in Detroit, MI.⁽⁵⁾
